ILLINOIS (25 News Now) – Illinois State Police are urging the public to be vigilant because of online chatter about a so-called “National Day of Hate” on Saturday.
Neo-Nazi anti-Semite groups are encouraging actions of hate this weekend, prompting a call for heightened awareness in the coming days, State Police said in a Facebook post on Thursday.
“If you see suspicious vehicles, circumstances, or individuals, call 911 immediately,” State Police said.
“At this time, there is no information upon which to take action, but the public should be vigilant in the coming days and report suspicious and/or illegal activity to local law enforcement,” the state agency said.
The statement went on to say that the Statewide Terrorism and Intelligence Center has been in communication with community organizations and will continue monitoring all intelligence platforms.
