PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say they have a man in custody following what was first reported as a robbery.
Police say the reported robbery happened just before 11 a.m. Monday at the downtown CityLink facility.
A suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, and a victim was not located.
But, they did find matching vehicle later on near Martin Luther King, Junior Drive, and William Kumpf Boulevard, and arrested a man inside.
Police say James Wright, Junior, 30, faces a host of weapons charges, in part after a gun was allegedly found in the vehicle.
He’s jailed pending court appearances, and is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapon, Driving on a Suspended License and other traffic charges, along with an active Warrant on file.
