PEORIA, Ill. – An 18-year-old has been arrested for Peoria’s 23rd homicide of the year.
Peoria County Jail records indicate Erick Jackson was arrested Monday on charges of First Degree Murder, Domestic Battery, and Criminal Trespass to a Vehicle.
Peoria Police say Jackson was interviewed and later booked, connected to the November 7th shooting of Merian Smith, 15, who was declared brain dead two days later.
