PEORIA, Ill. — Authorities are sharing details about a massive reported brawl at Peoria Speedway Saturday night where investigators say a 4-year-old child got punched as part of the fight.
Peoria County Sheriff’s investigators say, a little after 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a report of as many as 100 people fighting at the speedway.
Further information released by the Sheriff’s Office indicates the bulk of the fighting happened on the infield of the racetrack and that fighting broke out not long after the conclusion of a race.
Deputies say one of the race-car drivers, who also got involved in the larger fight, was ultimately trespassed from the property following the incident.
So far, no arrests have been made, but Peoria deputies say they have some suspect information to work from related to the alleged assault of the child.
