WASHINGTON, Ill. – Some additional transportation options are coming to residents of Washington starting Monday.
The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District says it is starting a six month pilot program to add paratransit service through CityLift to Washington.
It will be available to anyone aged 18 to 59 that might have mobility and disability issues.
Ride costs will start at $2 and go up based on distance.
Washington is described as an area that’s otherwide underserved by public transit.
Residents in Washington can call Washington Township at 309-444-2987 for more information. Rides must be scheduled a day in advance.
