PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, indicating 8 rounds were fired in the area of W. Beverly and Knoxville Avenue.
Peoria Public Information Officer Semone Roth told WMBD News, when officers arrived, they found a male victim who’d been shot, lying in the road.
Officers started life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified that victim as 40-year-old Peoria resident Timothy Foreman.
Harwood says Foreman was pronounced dead at 12:21 a.m.
Traffic at Knoxville and Beverly was blocked off for nearly two hours while officers conducted an investigation.
Information regarding the victim, as well as the manner and cause of death, will be released later by the Peoria County coroner.
No arrests have been made and PPD has no suspects at this time.
