PEORIA, Ill. – On the same day the City of Peoria is announcing its main Diversity Officer, Bradley University is doing the same thing.
The University said Monday Dr. Warren Anderson is their first-ever Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, starting next January 31st.
“During my visit to the university, it was clear to me that the students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members want to be partners to make Bradley University one of the most culturally competent universities in the nation,” said Anderson, in a news release.
Anderson comes to Peoria from the University of Wisconsin system, where he’s served in a similar position for the last 11 months.
Bradley president Stephen Sandifird says in that news release he believes the job will be critical for the university, as he wants to expand such a culture on campus.
“Dr. Anderson’s experience, passion, innovative thinking and ability to collaborate will be a catalyst for great things at Bradley,” said Standifird.
