PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded to a vehicle fire around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of E. Fairoaks Avenue.
Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Ralph Phillips said crews found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames between two homes.
“The flames did get into the eaves of the house it was closest to, causing some cosmetic damage on the detached garage that went with that house. The house next door had most of its siding melted off that was in that corner,” Phillips said.
The vehicle was total loss. The American Red Cross was called in to provide lodging for one adult and three children.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
