Students Let Out After Outage

Students at Peoria High School got an unexpected half-day Wednesday.

A district spokesperson says the school lost power and students were dismissed at 12:30 p.m.

An Ameren contractor struck an underground line while replacing a pole, leading to the outage.

With no heat in the school, students were allowed to leave.

District 150’s page says lunch will be available for students in need and power was expected to be back on by early afternoon.
