Peoria police conducted a search at Peoria High School after authorities received a threat specific to the school.

Peoria police spokesperson Amy Dotson says the threat was received at the Peoria Police Department around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers then were dispatched to search the school and the property.

“(Wednesday) was an early dismissal day so the people still inside the building were some faculty members and students involved in extracurricular activities,” Dotson said.

Dotson says the building was evacuated while officers conducted their search.

“There were no valid threats found,” Dotson said. Dotson would not reveal what the specific threat was.

The school was cleared around 3:54 p.m.
