Peoria Teen Pleads Guilty To October Shooting

A Peoria teen says he shot another man last fall.

Jalen Clark, 19, pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated battery in Peoria County Circuit Court.

Clark says he got into a fight with the 23-year-old victim, pulled a gun and shot him in the arm.

The shooting happened near Sheridan and Loucks last October 26th.

Clark was arrested nearby not long after the shooting.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors agreed to drop a lesser charge and reduce Clark’s sentence.

Aggravated battery carries a minimum sentence of 6 years in prison.

Clark will be sentenced on July 27th.
