Peoria Firefighter Injured

A Peoria firefighter is injured while putting out a car fire.

Crews were called to the north parking deck at OSF St. Francis Medical Center at 1:08 p.m. Monday on a report of a car on fire. Heavy smoke was seen coming from the second floor of the deck when they arrived.

Firefighters were able to get a hose line to the upper deck area and, using foam, got the fire under control within a few minutes. There was no damage to an adjacent car.

Battalion Chief Aldo Scott gave no details of the firefighter’s injuries, but said the injuries did not appear to be severe.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
