Pekin Police Release New Details On Double Shooting

Police have released new information related to a double shooting/homicide in Pekin.

On July 6th, at 11:31 a.m., Pekin Police responded to 1307 Monroe Street for a double shooting.

Police discovered 63-year-old Patricia Vanderschraaf in a back bedroom with multiple gunshot wounds.

Her husband, 62-year-old Steven Vanderschraaf, was found in a separate room with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head.

Mr. Vanderschraaf was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, where he later died of his injuries.

Pekin Police continue to investigate.
