Paying More At The Pump

Gas prices are on the rise in Central Illinois.

Analysts from AAA say the prices have moved higher due to a global increase in crude prices and interruptions in refinery production.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in the Peoria-Pekin area is $2.60 – that up 27 cents in the past month. But, that’s still over a dollar less than last May.

The switch to a higher priced summer blend of gas will continue spike prices, even through Memorial Day Weekend.

The statewide average is $2.78, and the National average is sitting at $2.70 per gallon.
