One Dead In Peoria Shooting

Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson says a man is dead after an early morning shooting in the 2300 block of W. Marquette.

A ShotSpotter alert came in just after 5 a.m. of five shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds in the backyard of a home in the area of Marquette and Westmoreland.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are no suspects at this time.

This is Peoria’s first homicide of the year.
