Name Change For First State Bank Of Illinois

Fortress Bank

New name, same bank.

First State Bank of Illinois will be known as Fortress Bank, beginning Dec. 1.

First State Bank of Illinois now operates ten banking centers, including those in Peoria and Pekin.

Officials say the opening of a new loan production office in Davenport, Iowa in January will mean the bank’s outreach will be beyond Illinois. The new name will allow for a brand that is not tied to a certain geographic area.

“Our customers should rest assured that we are not changing ownership,” said President Dean Heinzmann in a news release. “Fortress Bank will continue to serve our communities with the same focus on agriculture, business, and mortgage banking, and our staff will not be impacted in any way. We are also committed to our ties with the communities in which we live and work. Community support has been an integral part of our bank’s history and will continue.”

First State Bank of Illinois operates other banking centers in LaHarpe, Carthage, Hamilton, Macomb, Monmouth, Blandinsville and Colusa, Illinois and Bettendorf, Iowa.
