Music Monday with Marc

John Prine ( is probably one of America’s most cherished singer songwriters and born and raised right here in Illinois. He actually grew up just outside of Chicago in a town called Maywood where he spent 5 years as a Mailman and served in Vietnam. He was discovered by Kris Kristofferson who produced his debut album in 1971. John is such a treasure over the years and this past April he released his first album of original songs in 13 years. The album features appearances from The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, Jason Isbell, Brandie Carlise, Amanda Shires and others.
