Man Carjacked At Knifepoint

A Peoria man was reportedly carjacked after 5:00 Saturday morning in south Peoria.

The Peoria Journal Star reports a 45-year-old man told police that another man had asked him for a ride in 1100 block of SW Jefferson Avenue, near the River West subdivision. The two then drove to an area several blocks away where the victim was assaulted and had his keys taken.

The victim says he hit the suspect with a brick before running to the police station.

The suspected carjacker was described as a 6-foot, thin black male.
