Illinois Prepares For State Tornado Drill

Illinois has already experienced severe weather this year.

With multiple tornadoes and severe thunderstorms hitting the state last week, it’s important for everyone to make sure they have a plan for when severe weather strikes.

As part of Illinois Severe Weather Preparedness Week, the Annual Statewide Tornado Drill be be held Tuesday morning.

The National Weather Service will issue an actual Tornado Warning, with TEST wording throughout the warning, activating the Emergency Alert System in every county of the state at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday.

In the event of actual hazardous weather, the test will be postponed until Wednesday at 10:00 a.m.
