Falling Ice And Snow Damages Vehicles On Murray Baker Bridge

Five inches of snow fell in Peoria Sunday, taking many drivers by surprise.

State Trooper Lisa Osborne says Illinois State Police responded to eight incidents on eastbound and westbound spans of the Murray Baker Bridge between 12:30-4:00 p.m. Sunday.

Ice and snow falling off the bridge left a number of vehicles damaged, including several shattered windshields.

Osborne said no injuries were reported, but several cars had to be towed.
