East Peoria Murder Suspect Faces New Charges

Tazewell County Sheriff's Office

(WEEK) —New and chilling details about the man accused of a murder in East Peoria late last year.

48-year-old Kenneth Ohler was charged Thursday with soliciting for murder, and soliciting for aggravated arson.

The Journal Star reports the charges stem from Ohler allegedly scheming from jail, to kill Michael Dixon’s widow and stepson, while they slept, by setting the house on fire, or exploding it.

Ohler is accused of killing 60-year-old Michael Dixon last December inside his East Peoria home on Springfield Road.

Ohler is due back in court later this month on the murder charges.
