The Kroger in East Peoria is expanding.
Franchise spokesperson John Elliot says its structure in East Peoria will expand by about 35,000 feet. He says the plan is still in its early developmental stages, but could lead to dozens of new jobs.
Elliot added Kroger is pushing to sell more naturally grown food, which could occupy the new space.
He credits the City of East Peoria for working with them to acquire 13 properties.
Elliot says these plans are still early in development and there is no timeline for the addition, but doesn’t expect the project to be finished for at least another 10 months.
