The Bradley Softball team plays at a brand new field on Saturday.
The team battles Missouri State for the first time at Petersen Hotels Field at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.
“Anytime you walk up and see the stadium, and some of the views from standing on the field and looking back are pretty impressive,” said Bradley Softball Coach Amy Hayes.
Hayes walked around the stadium Friday, impressed by all the new park has to offer.
“The press box area with more capabilities, the locker room with bathrooms and showers, the video board is amazing,” Hayes said.
Hayes says the team will need a little time to adjust to the new, turf surface. She expects it to play faster than the dirt field at Laura Bradley Park.
“We’re really excited,” Hayes said. “We hope a lot of people come out and hopefully enjoy some good games.”
Petersen Hotels Field has grandstand seating for about 1,000 with additional, covered bleachers. The ballpark is a major component of the new Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.
The Braves are scheduled to make their debut on the field Saturday by hosting a noon doubleheader against Missouri Valley Conference rival Missouri State. The teams will conclude their three-game weekend series with an 11 a.m. game on Sunday.
