Body Found In Tazewell County

Authorities are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body in North Pekin.

North Pekin police were notified of the discovery Tuesday afternoon. The body was found in a wooded area along the Illinois River across from Twin Lakes. The area is state conservation property.

Officials say the area was flooded most of the summer.

No further information has been released. Illinois State Police, state Conservation Police and the Tazewell County Coroner are investigating.
