3rd Annual Peoria Tri-Athlon On Sunday

The 3rd annual Peoria Tri-Athlon will take place on Sunday. This year, it’s sponsored by Bushwhacker.

Athletes will begin swimming in the Illinois River at the foot of Main St. Participants will enter and exit the water on the dock in this area.

The bike segment will be conducted on Washington and Main Streets. Athletes will ride along Main St. before trekking along Sheridan, Washington and Darst Streets. The race will proceed northeast on Washington to Liberty, right on Liberty, left on Water St., left on Main St. and left on Washington St. The riders will then complete the Washington St. segment a second time ending in the transition area.

The running portion of the competition will be completed on the river front trail.

The triathlon will begin at 8:00 a.m. Roads are expected to open back up around 10:00 a.m. after the bike portion of the triathlon finishes.
