PEORIA, Ill. – A former Peoria man is the victim of the city’s 18th homicide of the year.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says preliminary autopsy results on Christopher Tillman, 46, of Mableton, Georgia, affirmed he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and likely died instantly.
Tillman was found on Northeast Adams Street, not long after the 8:59 p.m. Tuesday ShotSpotter alert of five rounds being fired near Taft Homes on Northeast Madison.
Tillman was unresponsive when taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Still no word on suspect information, but police still want you to call them, CrimeStoppers, or Tip411 if you have any information.

PEORIA, Ill. — A shooting near Peoria’s Taft Homes becomes the city’s latest homicide.
Police were called just before 9 p.m. Tuesday to NE Madison Avenue by a ShotSpotter alert indicating 5 rounds were fired.
Calls were also received of a potential gunshot victim.
Peoria Public Information Officer Semone Roth said when officers arrived, they found an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound on NE Adams.
The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.
PPD has no suspect information.
This is Peoria’s 18th homicide of the year.
