PEORIA, Ill. — Authorities are releasing more details about a man shot and killed in Peoria over the weekend, as well as details about a sustained effort to save the man’s life.
Authorities say Peoria Police got the Shotspotter alert around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of N. Bigelow St.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found one male gunshot victim. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood issued a released Sunday, identifying the victim as 21-year-old Roger Browder, of N. Sheridan Road, Peoria.
The release mentioned first responders had attempted resuscitative efforts at the scene, however Browder was ultimately pronounced dead at 1:07 p.m. Saturday.
Other details surrounding the circumstances immediately following the shooting are unclear, but investigators say there is currently no suspect information and no arrests have been made.
Peoria Police detectives are treating this case as a homicide. It would be the city’s ninth recorded homicide of the year so far.
