PEORIA, Ill. – Some students at Bradley University are that much closer to their goal of working in a much-needed profession.
Nearly 100 sophomores in Bradley’s Nursing program got to don their white coats for the first time at a ceremony Friday afternoon.
“In 2014, the American Association of Colleges of Nursing partnered with the Arnold P. Gold Foundation to provide opportunities to nursing programs to apply for funding to host similar ceremonies,” Bradley University said in a news release. “The Bradley Department of Nursing was fortunate to be a recipient of funding to begin their White Coat Ceremony in this inaugural offering.”
White coat ceremonies are generally used in nursing and dental programs to recognize entry into practice.
The university says their nursing programs continue to expand, through both the traditional and accellerated programs.
