PEORIA, Ill. – A current tenant of Bradley University’s Peoria NEXT Innovation Center will soon be taking up some more space at the facility.
Midwest Bioprocessing received nearly $2 million in grant money from the National Institutes of Health.
“Midwest Bioprocessing will expand from one wet lab to three, as well as rent an oversized office space for their back office,” said Michael Stubbs, director, Peoria NEXT.
Stubbs says the money will also help Midwest Bioprocessing further their research on anti-viral medications.
And that’s not all manager Dr. David Demirjian says is going on there right now.
“We just licensed in a technology to the company from the USDA labs, just down the street there(in Peoria),” said Demirjian, “and have a collaboration ongoing with them to produce new personal care products.”
Demirjian says he loves Peoria NEXT’s access to Bradley University students, and the ability to get in touch with other bio-medical experts.
Midwest Bioprocessing has been a part of Peoria NEXT since 2019.
