PEORIA, Ill. – All things considered, the president of Bradley University says things are in relatively good shape.
Stephen Standifird gave his State of the University address Wednesday, and our news partner 25 News reports freshman enrollment declined three percent, but the good news is that the decline wasn’t as bad as anticipated.
The other good news, Standifird says all university faculty and staff will get a two percent pay raise starting in January.
Standifird says he wants to help transition students out of a “crisis mode” caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and that students are helping. He says around 75 percent of all students are fully vaccinated.
Students of color, Standifird says, make up about 35 percent of the incoming, and that diversity remains a top priority. He says a new vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion is being hired.
