PEORIA, Ill. — Due to COVID-19, Peoria’s annual Martin Luther King Freedom March will be a vehicle parade this year, allowing participants to be socially distanced throughout the event.
Monday’s MLK parade will line up at 1:30 p.m. at the Romeo B. Garrett Center, at 824 N. Dureya. It will leave the Bradley University campus at 2 p.m.
The parade route goes from the Garrett Center to Moss Avenue, then to Western, Howett and Griswold Street.
The MLK parade will end with a drive-in theater service in the parking lot of Peoria Manual Academy at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Peoria Police say drivers in the area of the parade should expect traffic delays, and allow extra time to get where they are going.
