PEORIA, Ill. — Bradley University, like schools nationwide, has had to deal with outbreaks of the coronavirus on campus.
Bradley Spokesperson Renee Charles told WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, the positivity rate is down to about 1.4%, thanks to students changing some behaviors.
“We still have cases popping up, we still quarantines and isolations going on, but we’re in a much better position, thanks to our students,” Charles said.
In the coming weeks, or even days, Bradley expects to see a slight increase in positivity rates, not only due to Halloween being this weekend, but in response to COVID numbers rising regionally and statewide.
The COVID-19 pandemic has added a lot of unwanted stress to college student’s daily lives.
Bradley University is launching a mental health campaign the first of November, because that’s what students are asking for, according to Charles.
BU’s focus on mental health will continue through the end of the semester.
“To give them helpful tips and tricks and resources to use, to make sure that they can get through the rest of the semester on a positive note,” Charles said.
All BU students were recently quarantined for two weeks after a spike in cases on campus.
Heading into the holiday season, Bradley students are being asked to continue safety guidelines to keep COVID numbers down.
