19 Year Old Arrested For Knife Incident At Morton Library

Tazewell County Sheriff's Office

Police were called to the Morton Library Tuesday afternoon on reports of a knife incident.

Morton Police say Dustin Brown, 19, went into a room at the library just before 3:30 p.m. intent on cutting someone.

A 76-year-old man suffered lacerations to his hands trying to stop Brown.

Police say the 19-year-old was taken to OSF St. Francis Hospital, then later transported to the Tazewell County Jail for attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery of a senior citizen and aggravated assault.

Brown was indicted in March on 22 counts of possession of child pornography, after he was expelled from Morton High School in February for using the school’s wireless networks to access the illegal images from his Dropbox account.
