Women’s Lifestyle Show Lives On

OSF HealthCare has announced it has purchased the Women’s Lifestyle Show from Joy Miller and Associates. Miller announced in February she was going to discontinue the show, but said it may be picked up by another producer. The event will now be called the OSF Women’s Lifestyle Show, according to Jen Hopwood, Vice-President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

“This will continue a 24-year event for our community,” Hopwood says, “which has helped women grow personally and professionally over the years.”

Miller’s business will continue to be associated with the event as a sponsor. Hopwood says while most of the show’s format will remain, thanks to OSF’s involvement there will be a stronger focus on health care. Hopwood says research shows, on average, women are caring for or heavily influencing the health care decisions of 8 to 10 people.

“They are making health care decisions for not only themselves, but their kids, their spouses, their parents and other extended family members.”

Hopwood says the speaker line up will cover a wide range of women focused topics including nutrition, health and wellness, life balance and general entertainment.

This year’s show is set for Saturday, October 17 at the Peoria Civic Center from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
