Washington Man Hit By Stray Bullet

A Washington man suffered a gun shot wound on his property Friday night.

The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Jacob Miller was hit when two bullets went through the wall of his shed, one hitting him in the arm.

Officers were called to the residence at 26102 Schuck Road shortly after 7 p.m.

It was reported at the time of the incident, that a nearby resident was shooting a firearm at a target on his property.

Police said foul play is not suspected though the incident is under investigation and criminal charges will be reviewed with the States Attorneys Office.

Miller was taken by private vehicle to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with a non life-threatening injury.

No charges have been filed.
