Two cats and a dog died in a house fire in the 5400 block of N. Rachel Dr. Saturday night.

The home owners weren’t around at the time of the fire.

Fire crews arrived on scene around 7:45 p.m. Saturday after the home owners had returned home to heavy smoke coming from the house.

First responders were informed that three cats and a dog were inside the house.

Crews located the fire in the kitchen and extinguished the flames. Two cats and a dog were removed from the home. Crews attempted to resuscitate them using pet masks and oxygen.
