ShotSpotter Keeps Peoria Officers Busy

Peoria police found blood near the rear of a South Peoria home while investigating numerous ShotSpotter reports.

Officers responded to as many as eight ShotSpotter reports between 4:34 a.m. and 4:52 a.m. Saturday.

One of those reports sent officers to the 1000 block of West Fourth Street near the intersection with West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Scanner traffic indicates officers found blood near the rear porch area of a home and a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire outside the residence.

Police confirm no victim was located.

The incident remains under investigation.
