Search Continues For Missing Peoria Woman

Peoria Police Department

Volunteer searchers will canvass an area of Peoria’s East Bluff looking for a missing woman, or for some clues as to her whereabouts.

Alexis Scott, 20, was last seen around 5 p.m. Sept. 23 in the 100 block of West Richmond Avenue.

The Journal Star reports family and friends will meet at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 2 at St. Paul’s Baptist Church before searching for Scott, including the area where she was last seen.

Kelly Mammen, who organized this search and a previous effort in October, says there have been tips to Scott’s location, but they have been infrequent and some people have contacted the woman’s family.

Mammen says she has received seven calls since Thanksgiving.

Peoria police have described Scott as African-American, 5-1, 140 pounds with brown eyes and long brown hair.

Anyone with information on Scott’s whereabouts is urged to call the Peoria Police Department (309-673-4521) or Crime Stoppers (309-673-9000).
