(From 25 News) – Northwoods Mall is preparing for a new tenant.

Sources tell 25 News that “Round 1” USA will be taking up space on the first floor of the old Macy’s department store.

Round 1 is a bowling and amusement company with headquarters in Los Angeles, California. It’ll have arcade games, darts, pool tables and food as well as a kids play zone.

The company currently has locations in scattered throughout the U-S including California, Colorado, and Georgia. There are also two locations already in Illinois, one at the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora and one at the Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale.

Construction work had been going on at the old Macy’s stie in recent days. For sale signs on the building had come down and a construction fence had gone up.

A 25 News FOIA request to the city of Peoria for a building permit shows an Ohio construction company submitted a request on Jan. 23 to perform a interior demolition inside the old Macy’s with an estimated cost of $745,000.

Macy’s closed its Northwoods Mall location in 2016. The company just announced last month that it would be closing its Bloomington location at the Eastland Mall by the end of this year.
