President of Morton Community Bank Has Died

The President and Co-CEO of Morton Community Bank has died.

MCB announced Jim Mamer’s death Tuesday.

Mamer had been with the company since 1986, helping establish the bank’s first location in East Peoria. He was appointed President five years later.

“Over those years Jim loaned millions of dollars to facilitate the growth of businesses and communities throughout the Peoria area and Central Illinois,” Chairman Emeritus Gordon Honegger said in a statement Tuesday.

Honegger says Mamer was set to receive his 30-year pin in a ceremony next week. He added Mamer collaborated with local leaders and was instrumental in helping with the development of East Peoria’s Levee District.

Morton Community Bank’s holding company announced Andrew Honegger has been named Interim President of MCB.
