PEORIA, Ill. — Emergency crews were called to a home in the 1900 block of N. Maryland in Peoria just after 6:30 Monday night.
First companies on the scene reported seeing smoke coming from the front of the home. The house appeared to be vacant and was boarded-up.
Crews were able to make entry and found fire in a back room.
The fire was put out in less than 10 minutes, but the home sustained heavy smoke damage.
An investigator called to the scene determined the fire was intentionally set. The house was vacant.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
