Pekin Man Accused Of Home Invasion

Pekin Police

Police have made an arrest in connection with a home invasion in Pekin last week.

Pekin Police were called to the 700 block of E. Shore Drive Friday on reports of a battery that had just occurred.

Two victims, a man and a woman, told police that Jeremy Mercer, 38, of Pekin, entered their apartment without permission, and started punching the man in the face. The woman was able to break up the fight, and Mercer left the apartment.

Pekin Police located Mercer Monday and arrested him on charges of home invasion and criminal damage to property.

Mercer is being held at the Tazewell County Jail.
