(AP) – The city of Pekin in central Illinois has launched a new tourism website.

The city spent about $5,000 on the website funded by the city’s hotel and motel tax.

Pekin Economic Development Director Leigh Ann Brown says the city wanted to rebrand and make the website a resource to showcase the city. That includes Pekin arts and entertainment, dining, outdoor recreation and activities on the Illinois River. There’s also a calendar of events and the site will be updated regularly.

Officials chose the name Enjoy Pekin because it reflects the state’s tourism campaign, Enjoy Illinois.

The new website can be accessed here.
