Appeal of Dismissal Denied for Former Peoria Pastor

A former Monsignor in the Catholic Diocese of Peoria has been denied an appeal to overturn his dismissal. Thomas Miller was dismissed in 2006 after accusations arose in 2004 that he abused a boy while and assistant pastor at a Bloomington congregation in the late 1970's.

Miller was a Monsignor at the time of his removal and served as a pastor at Saint Vincent de Paul Parish in Peoria. He also previously served at Saint Bernard Parish in Peoria.

An appeal to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith by Miller has been denied. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria says Miller's dismissal was upheld and Miller is now permanently dismissed. The Congregation also will not allow another appeal.
