Many BP gas owners across the country are considering rebranding as Amoco or another name. But not in Peoria right now, according to Terry Beachler of Beachler's ServiceCenter. "Occasionally a customer will make a comment," Beachler tells 1470 WMBD. "But, we're physically separated from the mess going on the in the Gulf. The impact here has certainly been less."
That's not to say we may see some changes at Beachler's in the future. Beachler of Beachler ServiceCenter says his gas supplier contract expires next June so he's already thinking about changing things.
"It could be unbranded..certainly Shell is out there, Phillips is out there and Exxon Mobil is a possibility," says Beachler. "Even one option is leaving the gasoline end of the business and place full emphasis on the service end which is going very well."
BP station owners considering a change have seen a sales plunge because of protests. Beachler says that's not the case as his business.
