A move to combine the three branches of Ameren Illinois under one umbrella is being called a technicality by company officials.
Ameren CIPS, CILCO and IP would be Ameren Illinois with the state headquarters here in Peoria. Spokesman Sean Vanslyke says this is all about the name, with few changes expected. He says Ameren thinks this makes things more simple for customers and allows for service enhancements in the future.
The company headquarters in Illinois would officially be in Peoria. Vanslyke says the Liberty Street location has held that unofficial title for quite awhile. The reorganization is set to be complete October 1st.
