Peoria Mayor says Quinn plan would cost Peoria three-million dollars

If the state cuts more funding to the City of Peoria it will mean more cuts. Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis says Governor Quinn's plan would mean three-million dollars less next fiscal year which would raise the 2011 deficit to eight-million dollars.

"They continue to hit us with unfunded mandates and now they are trying to pull back on dollars we traditionally receive. It's really frustrating," said Ardis.

Ardis says the lack of funding would likely mean the loss of more services and jobs in the city. City staff plans to give the council an update on the budget at the next meeting March 23rd.
