Krishnamoorthi Joins Koehler In Lt. Governor Fray



CHICAGO (AP) - A former Democratic candidate for Illinois comptroller and Peoria native says he's submitted an application to be the party's candidate for lieutenant governor. Raja Krishnamoorthi  says he sent his application to Democratic party officials on Friday. Another Peorian, State Senator Dave Koehler filed his applicaion for the same post Thursday.  Krishnamoorthi narrowly lost the primary race for comptroller to state Rep. David Miller. He's a former deputy Illinois treasurer and worked for the  Illinois attorney general's office.  The Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, Scott Lee Cohen, has left the race. Democratic officials are accepting applications from people who want to take his spot on the ballot.  Nearly 150 applications have been submitted this week. No timeline has been set for choosing a replacement.
