Severe Weather Preparedness week also includes a warning about floods. National Weather Service Meteorologist Chris Miller says flash flooding could be a problem since the water table remains high. Storms with heavy rainfall can make for a dangerous mix. Miller expects the Illinois River to go over flood stage again this Spring. He doesn't think flood stage will be as severe as last year. In 2009, the river remained above flood stage from February until May.
