Area Chambers form CIRCLE to meet with legislators

Representatives from six area Chambers of Commerce have formed a CIRCLE. CIRCLE stands for: Central Illinois Regional Chambers Legislative Effort.

CIRCLE has coordinated a trip to Springfield March 2nd so the Chambers and their members can bring a unified message to lawmakers on key issues that impact the entire region. Chambers in Peoria, East Peoria, Chillicothe, Morton, Pekin and Washington are involved.

Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce COO Rob Parks says those issues are public pension reform, worker's compensation, the capital program, slow state payment cycles and education funding. The trip will include breakfast and lunch sandwiched by issue briefings with legislators.

Parks says chamber members are invited to go along to get their voices heard. The cost is $75. Contact any of the CIRCLE's Chambers to register or for more information.
